The Ghanaian gospel icon, Joe Mettle, made a big impact in the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, taking home two major prizes, Best Gospel Artist and Best Male Vocal Performance for his deeply stirring and moving song “Oba Awon Oba.”
It further elevates and supports Joe Mettle’s status and presence in the Gospel space. Joe is noted for his natural deep voice, rich lyrics, and genuinely Christian messages, and he remains an active force in upgrading the standards of gospel music in Ghana and beyond.
However, his song “Oba Awon Oba,” which is Yoruba for the “King of Kings,” has had an impression on gospel audiences since its release. The track mixes theme worship with soul-stirring vocals, excellent chanting of the lyrics describing God Almighty’s sovereignty, and loud production.
Winning the Best Gospel Artiste has further cemented Joe Mettle as a leading player while Best Male Vocal Performance salutes the beauty of technical perfection in his execution and anointing. Another milestone in the already decorated career of the artiste is being used to encourage budding gospel musicians all over.
