Gospel minister Obaapa Christy has brought the maiden edition of Royal Praise 2026 to a triumphant close, with the Kumasi edition delivering a sold-out experience that drew worshippers, gospel ministers, traditional leaders and prominent personalities to The Church of Pentecost, Bantama.
Held on Sunday, August 16, the Kumasi edition had the venue filled to capacity by around 6:00 PM, with patrons occupying the ground floor as well as the upper levels of the church. The massive turnout created an atmosphere of excitement even before the main performances got underway.
The evening opened with several curtain-raiser performances before Obaapa Christy took the stage for her first ministration. She was followed by a powerful lineup of gospel ministers, including Lady Prempeh, Joyce Blessing, Brother Sammy and Mama Esther.
Obaapa Christy later returned to the stage for a second ministration before Kweku Gyasi brought the evening’s performances to a beautiful close.
The event also attracted a strong presence of notable personalities and traditional leaders who came to support the gospel minister. Among them was gospel minister Empress Gifty, who travelled from Accra to be part of the Kumasi celebration, alongside other artistes who made the trip to support the maiden Royal Praise experience.
Beyond the music and performances, the evening reflected the vision behind Royal Praise: creating an atmosphere where people can encounter God and leave with testimonies.
In her closing remarks, Obaapa Christy expressed her desire to see testimonies emerge from the lives of people who attended the event. She also announced that Royal Praise has come to stay, promising an even bigger experience in the years ahead.
The Kumasi edition follows the successful Accra edition held the previous week at the UPSA Auditorium, bringing the inaugural Royal Praise journey to a memorable conclusion in Kumasi.
Royal Praise 2026 was powered by Footprint TV, with the event production handled by Footprint TV in collaboration with Image Build Motions.
From the packed venue and energetic crowd to the powerful ministrations and Obaapa Christy’s commanding stage presence, the maiden edition established Royal Praise as a new addition to Ghana’s gospel event calendar.
And if the promise made at the close of this year’s event is anything to go by, Royal Praise 2027 is set to be even bigger.
