The first edition of Royal Praise with Obaapa Christy has concluded in Accra, bringing together a vibrant gathering of worshippers, gospel ministers, industry personalities, traditional leaders, media personalities, politicians, families and fans for an evening of praise, worship and celebration.
Held on Sunday, August 9 at the UPSA Auditorium, the event delivered a distinctly royal experience, with traditional drums, colourful traditional attire and a strong representation of Ghana’s cultural heritage woven into an atmosphere of worship.
The gathering also drew a broad cross-section of Ghana’s entertainment and public space, with musicians, actors and actresses, media personalities, political figures, kings, queens and worshippers of different generations turning up to support Obaapa Christy and celebrate the name of God.
Royal Praise was designed around the biblical identity of believers as a “royal priesthood,” with attendees encouraged to embrace the royal theme through their appearance and participation.
The Accra experience now makes way for the Kumasi edition, scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, at The Church of Pentecost, Bantama, where Obaapa Christy will be joined by Brother Sammy, Mama Esther, Ernest Opoku, Joyce Blessing, Quame Gyedu and Lady Prempeh for another evening of praise and worship.
The Accra edition was powered by Footprint TV, with production by Footprint TV in collaboration with Image Build Motions, marking another major in-house production and coverage milestone for the media platform.
With Accra wrapped in an atmosphere of joy and thanksgiving, the focus now shifts to Kumasi.
