Tasha Cobbs Leonard has won Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year at the 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards for her album TASHA, adding another major recognition to her music ministry.
The award was presented at the ceremony held on October 6, 2026, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, hosted by Tauren Wells, celebrated outstanding contributions to Christian and Gospel music across multiple genres and categories.
Leonard also won Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “Church,” her collaboration with John Legend. The two awards highlighted her impact across contemporary and traditional Gospel music.
Speaking about the journey behind TASHA, Leonard reflected on a season of personal growth and deeper fellowship with God. She described how the past year and a half had brought her into a deeper understanding of His goodness and character.
The album’s award-winning production credits include Kenneth Leonard Jr., Zaytoven, Juberlee, B.A.M., Adale Jackson and Alexandria Dollar.
Other Major Winners
Phil Wickham was named Artist of the Year, while Jamie MacDonald received New Artist of the Year. Brandon Lake and Josiah Queen were among the night’s leading winners, each taking home three Dove Awards.
Queen’s “Dusty Bibles” won Song of the Year, while Lake was recognised as Songwriter of the Year (Artist). Jacob Sooter received Songwriter of the Year (Non-Artist), and Jonathan Smith won Producer of the Year.
Other notable winners included CeCe Winans, who won Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year for “More Than This [Radio Edit]” featuring Todd Dulaney, and Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers, who took home Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for Revival: Live in Dallas.
The awards also recognised achievements in Christian film and television. DAVID, the animated feature, won Feature Film of the Year, while The Chosen received Television Series of the Year for its fifth season.
