Thousands of worshippers gathered at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 28, for Joe Mettle’s annual Praise Reloaded 2026: The River, where hours of persistent rain did little to stop one of Ghana’s biggest worship gatherings.
From the start of the event at around 4:00 PM until it ended at approximately 9:45 PM, rain fell over the stadium. At times it was a light drizzle, while at other moments it became heavy. Yet the thousands in attendance remained in place, lifting their voices in worship and praise throughout the evening.
The rain intensified during several ministrations, including those by Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Prospa Ochimana, and Sumsiola Agbebi. Even so, worshippers continued singing, praying, and celebrating in what became one of the defining moments of this year’s edition.
Hosted by award-winning gospel musician Joe Mettle, the 14th edition of Praise Reloaded brought together ministers from Ghana and beyond for an evening centred on worship, prayer, and the presence of God under the theme, “The River.”
As voices echoed through the rain and hands remained lifted in worship, the weather became part of the testimony rather than a distraction, turning the night into a powerful demonstration of faith, unity, and unwavering devotion.
For many who attended, Praise Reloaded 2026 will be remembered not only for the music and ministrations but also for the extraordinary sight of thousands choosing to remain in the rain, worshipping God until the very end.
